Frequently Asked Questions About Commencement

How do I know if I am on track as a candidate for a degree in May?

Professor Kim Lewis, the college’s Degree Audit Specialist, performs your degree audit (“graduation check”) in January. Prof. Lewis will update potential May graduates via email IF any concerns are noted. Students with any concerns in their degree audits can then address them prior to spring term registration confirmation.  You may also make an appointment to meet with her if you have questions regarding degree requirements. Her contact information is [email protected].

How will I know if I have fines or holds that will keep me from getting my diploma at Commencement?

It is your responsibility to check with the Library and the Bursar's Office regarding your account. Taking care of this early will ensure that you will be able to receive your diploma.

If I complete my requirements for graduation before the end of the spring term, when do I receive my diploma?

Degrees are conferred four times a year:

  • Summer Graduates – on or before August 15
  • Fall Graduates – on or before December 15

  • Spring Graduates – May Commencement
