Brief Career Background:

Angharad (Anna) Darden specializes ancient Greek tragedy and the role that material culture plays in the creation of literature, focusing on fifth-century Athens. Her research interests lie especially in the work of Euripides, in his intense and consistent engagement with the visual arts, as well as in the impact of representations of gods in both public and private imagery on audience expectations and interpretation. She teaches Latin as wells as Greek and Roman texts in translation, ancient art, and modern receptions of antiquity.
