Greek Community


The mission of the Greek Community at Birmingham-Southern College is to promote academic excellence, demonstrate civic engagement, and philanthropic outreach, and create an inter-fraternal family among all members. We are committed to helping people reach their full potential and become successful after college life.

    Birmingham-Southern College is home to six National Panhellenic Sororities and one NPHC sorority. Our chapters are governed by the Panhellenic Council. The Panhellenic Council strives to develop women through academic success and service. We promote women's leadership, diversity, and strong relationships between each chapter.

    Birmingham-Southern College is home to five NIC fraternities and one NPHC fraternity. Our chapters are governed by the Interfraternity Council. "The Interfraternity Council at BSC exemplifies what Greek organizations should be. We seek students who have a commitment to our college and its rigorous academic tradition. Joining a fraternity is a lifelong commitment to brotherhood, service, leadership, and scholarship."

    Fraternity & Sorority Formal Recruitment


    Mixed group


    Formal Recruitment begins three or so weeks into the semester so that you can get adjusted to classes, learn to navigate the campus, and establish your ties to the BSC community. The Recruitment activities are held during the evening and will not interfere with any of your classes. Recruitment is absolutely FREE so we encourage you to participate even if you aren't sure you want to join a Greek organization.
