Brief Career Background:

After receiving my B.A., I worked for several years as a social worker assisting clients with psychological disorders in meeting their mental health goals. During my graduate school years at the University of Alabama, I worked with Dr. Alexa Tullett and graduated with a concentration in social psychology. I subsequently served for a year as visiting faculty member at UA while also working as a part-time statistical consultant for the Department of Nursing. I am currently in my second year as a visiting faculty member of BSC.

Educational Background:

PhD, Psychology, University of Alabama, 2021
BA, Psychology, Gonzaga University, 2009

Research interests:

I primarily research psychological topics related to metascience such as the extent to which science consumers are persuaded by scientific evidence and situational factors that influence the persuasiveness of evidence. I am also interested in understanding the thought processes that influence judgments of science. My other line of research is focused on intergroup stereotypes and prejudice between religious believers and religious non-believers.
