Environmental studies students must also meet Birmingham Southern College’s general
education requirements and the entry requirements of Duke University. They should
work closely with the program’s advisor in developing class schedules. Environmental
study students must successfully complete their first year requirements at Duke
University in order to receive the degree from Birmingham-Southern College. Students
who do not complete their first year at Duke University will not receive a degree from the
College unless they return and complete the requirements for another major as well as
any remaining graduation requirements.
