2017-18 student handbook

Birmingham-Southern College Foreword On behalf of the Student Government Association, welcome to the Hilltop! SGA serves as the voice of the student body and advocates its desires to the administration. In addition to institutional changes, SGA continuously implements new programs in an effort to better serve the student body. We also meet with student organizations, teams, and various campus groups to ensure we are gathering student opinions from across campus. We are an organization of the students, for the students, and we are here to serve you and to enhance the Birmingham-Southern College experience. One service the SGA provides each year is the online publication of the Student Handbook, a guide intended to provide students with a handy reference for many of the policies and procedures related to student life at BSC. This handbook outlines policies related to student conduct at the College, the Honor Code, as well as specific issues for Residence Life and should not be taken lightly. Regardless of whether you live on or off-campus, all students must adhere to the rules set forth in these pages while members of the BSC community. As a result, it is in the best interest of each student to become familiar with the contents of this handbook. In order to be successful in these endeavors, we need participation and input from the student body. If you have any suggestions or comments concerning SGA or any of its programs, please send an e-mail to [email protected] or speak with one of our officers or representatives: President – Toby White, Executive Vice President – Amelia Haston, Treasurer – Griffith Hawk, and Secretary – Stephanie Pope Forward Now, Forward Ever, Toby White President Student Government Association
