Bonner Leader Program
In the spring of 2015, the Bunting Center recruited the initial cohort for the fall launch of the Bonner Leader Program. Bonner
Leaders receive a scholarship and a community-based federal work-study position and commit to a program of community
engagement for the duration of their studies at the College. At least five students will be selected each year so that by the fall of
2018, Birmingham-Southern will have a cohort of at least 20 students committed to 8-10 hours of community engagement work
per week. Six students were chosen for the first cohort; six more were recruited to participate the second cohort beginning fall
2016.
