Compass Student Publication

Compass Student Publication

Compass is a student-run journal of leadership, service, and experiential learning published each spring. Inaugurated in 1999, Compass provides a forum for students, faculty, staff, and the community to discuss leadership, service, and experiential learning by featuring academic papers from all disciplines as well as reflective essays. Compass is supported through the Student Government Association and the Hess Center.

Submit your work for publication.

If you have written an essay, research paper, or reflection that addresses leadership, service, or an experiential learning opportunity such as an internship, consider submitting it for publication in Compass. Compass invites a wide range of pieces including leadership case studies, leader profiles, theoretical examinations of leadership, critical examinations of social challenges that require leadership, and reflections on personal leadership, service, or community engagement experiences. Any paper or project broadly related to leadership, service, or experiential learning is appropriate for submission to Compass. You do not have to be a DLS student or a Hess Fellow in order to submit your work for consideration.

Authors of the two strongest submissions will receive $50 Amazon Gift Cards in recognition of their work.
