Brief Career Background:

Prior to attending graduate school, I worked for a survey research company in New York City, coordinating projects for pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods companies. After graduate school I spent a year as a lecturer in the psychology department at Ohio State University, before joining the faculty of BSC.

Educational Background:

PhD, Psychology, Ohio State University, 2012
MA, Psychology, Ohio State University, 2007
BA, Psychology, Georgetown University, 2001

Research interests:

I am interested in learning about factors that affect how we understand and react emotionally to past decisions. My research has explored such factors as psychological distance from a decision, the visual perspective we use when mentally picturing a decision, and whether that decision stemmed from an action we took or from inaction. I am also interested in the benefits we ascribe to the emotion of regret, and how the types of purchases we make affect the type of regret we are most likely to experience.
