Brief Career Background:

Kent Andersen started teaching at the College in 1999. In addition to introductory writing courses, he also teaches courses in science fiction and leadership studies. While at the College, Kent has been involved with both the leadership studies programs and the service-learning programs, regularly serving as a faculty advisor for Interim term service projects.

Courses Taught:

LS 300 Leadership Practicum
A real-world application of leadership principles. Students practice leadership by working cooperatively with a community partner.

LS 400 Leadership Studies Capstone
A seminar for distinction in leadership studies students. Students complete a study of leadership and a public presentation.

HON 225 Creativity: Person, Process, Place
A seminar that reviews and critiques theory and research on the creative process.

EH 212 Alternate Worlds: Reading Science Fiction 
Develops the skills of reading and interpreting science fiction texts.Â
