SKLENAR CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
Anne Ledvina, Associate Director
The Sklenar Center for International Programs (SCIP) provides
leadership for international education on the campus of Birmingham-
Southern College. SCIP maintains the belief that international experience is
a fundamental part of a liberal arts education and is of significant value to
a student’s academic and professional development. The center divides its
responsibilities between three areas: exchange and study abroad advising,
international student and scholar advising, and internationally-focused
programming. Through our contacts and knowledge, SCIP provides
programs and creates connections that offer international study, internship,
research, volunteer and teaching opportunities worldwide. We believe
that all members of our college community should have the opportunity
to travel abroad, meet people of other cultures, develop friendships
and networks, enhance their language skills, and explore their personal,
academic and professional goals.
International Study
SCIP prepares and encourages the development of globally-engaged
students through the support of study abroad, internships, research
opportunities and interaction with international students and scholars.
