Admitted students experienced Birmingham-Southern at the Select 'Southern event held on March 2-3, 2014.
Birmingham-Southern College has launched a strategic plan to position the college as a world-class institution. The completed plan will outline the college's priorities and re-envision the college for the future while embracing its rich past.
The strategic planning process began in 2012. In conjunction, the college hired an outside consultant to survey students and prospective students and help determine BSC's perceived strengths and weaknesses. The result: an understanding that Birmingham-Southern's greatest assets include its historical commitment to hands-on education in a liberal arts context, its deep tradition of service, and its people—students at the forefront, supported by the faculty and staff dedicated to providing them an exceptional educational experience and preparing them for whatever the future might hold. As the strategic plan has developed, participants have returned to those touchstones again and again.
The committee has recently posted a working draft of the BSC 2023 Goals and Objectives for public comment.Note that this document is still very much a work in progress.
