In Memoriam
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of one the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve’s greatest
supporters and dearest friends, O.C. Brasher. Mr. Brasher was a man of great character and integrity,
whose life touched so many in this community.
From his involvement with the S.T.A.R.T group to the development and maintenance of the Preserve, Mr.
Brasher worked tirelessly to make Turkey Creek what it is today. There is no doubt that TCNP would not
exist without his efforts. Because of O.C., visitors for generations to come can safely enjoy the Preserve's
beauty. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time of grief.

BSC biology students take part in BioBlitz on Turkey
Creek
Each fall and spring, biology students from BSC are taking part in a
24 hour BioBlitz in the Bulldog Bend area of Turkey Creek in the
Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. A BioBlitz is a snapshot -- a limited-
time, limited-space species inventory of the organisms that live in an
area. The BioBlitz is headed up by biology professor Dr. Andy
Gannon, and Francesca Gross, coordinator of the UES program at
BSC.
