13) Ruby-throated Hummingbird

This is the smallest of our birds. The male of the species has a brilliant ruby colored throat, hence its name. The nest is constructed of lichens and about the size of a spool of thread. Its food is nectar, and it is attracted to red flowers like salvia, petunia, and such. In the EcoScape, look for it around red flowers.
