Benefitting the Southern Environmental Center
A record three hundred guests mingled over drinks and a tantalizing Harvest Supper prepared by Chef Franklin Biggs, during EcoFest 14 at the Norton Great Hall on October 4. Silent auction items included works using recycled materials by local artists Gerda Carmichel and BSC's Student Art League, guided tours of area greenways, organic produce from Manna Market, and much more.
The live auction was conducted by Jack Granger, and included fabulous retreats at Alys Beach & Sea Grove, a one in a lifetime English soccer package donated by General Krulak, Iron Bowl and LSU-Alabama tickets, a Greek Feast for 12 @ Birmingham's Fish Market, and a year's worth of household cleaning relief courtesy of The Maids.
Among those enjoying the wonderful decorations and auction layout by Sally Yeilding, Sharon McDermott Dana Orr, and Lorrin Etka-Shepherd, were Elton and Leslie Stephens, Stephen and Diana Jones, David and Kathy Senseman, and Laura Brooks Bright. Others included Anu Rao, Chuck and Patsy Thomas, Bill and Cindy McDougald, Tom Garrett, Randy Latta, Stan and Yin Ingram, and Sid and Angel Trant.
