Honors at Graduation
Students who during their academic careers establish a grade point average of 3.50 are graduated cum laude; those who establish a grade point average of 3.75 are graduated magna cum laude; and those with a grade point average of 3.90 are graduated summa cum laude. The final grade point average is calculated to three decimal places and rounded to the nearest hundredth.
Application for Degree
The Application for Degree form should be filed with the Office of Academic Records before the beginning of the term in which the candidate expects to complete degree requirements. Failure to file such application may result in delay in the conferring of the degree.
Stipulations for “Walkers”
Students who have not completed all graduation requirements by the end of spring term may participate in Commencement. Read the stipulations for walking. If you think you meet the stipulations, print and fill out the Declaration of Intent to Walk sign and bring it to the Academic Records office no later than May 1 so that you can be included on the commencement program.
A graduation fee is charged to each applicant for any degree. This fee covers costs of the student's diploma and academic regalia and will be added to the bill for the last term of residence. “Walkers” will not be billed for their graduation fee until their term of completion. All financial obligations to the College must be discharged prior to the conferring of any degree.
