The Birmingham-Southern College Department of Music will host guest artists Dr. Richard Schwartz, saxophone, and Dr. Phillip Schuessler '99, piano, in concert on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Dr. Jason Heaton, assistant professor of biology at Birmingham-Southern, has been named this year's recipient of the Bob Whetstone Faculty Development Award, given by the Provost's Office.

BSC professor offering free online History of Terrorism class
Dr. Randall Law, a BSC history professor, is re-offering his non-credit course that tracks the history of terrorism from ancient times to today. The eight-week online course is open to everyone and begins Sept. 8.

Krulak launches campaign to end human trafficking
In an op-ed published July 8 on Fox News, BSC President Gen. Charles C. Krulak writes that the United States should do more to fight human trafficking, including "modern-day slavery" in American businesses.
