Opera Theatre BSC students' talents featured in operas
The Birmingham-Southern Opera Theatre and Theatre programs will conclude their 2014-15 season with a production of Stanley Hollingsworth's The Mother and Ralph Vaughan Williams' Riders to the Sea, two one-act dramatic operas, April 24 & 26.

BSC welcomes Ramsay High School to campus
Birmingham-Southern College will host the entire ninth-grade class from Birmingham's Ramsay High School on campus April 28 for a special introduction to college.

BSC choirs to perform with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra
The choirs of BSC and Canterbury UMC will join the Alabama Symphony Orchestra to perform the "Sacred Service" by Ernest Bloch on Monday, April 27. The performance, conducted by Prof. Lester Seigel, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Alys Stephens Center. It is free and open to the public.

New chaplain appointed to Birmingham-Southern College
Birmingham-Southern College will welcome a new chaplain, Rev. Julie Blackwelder Holly '01, to campus June 10.

College to host 23rd symposium on Latin America
Undergraduate students from some 20 colleges and universities will share their original research and creative projects on Latin America at the 2015 Latin American Studies Symposium on campus, April 24-25.

BSC to hold annual Honors Day Convocation on April 30
Birmingham-Southern alumna Stephanie Houston Mays, an attorney at the Birmingham firm of Maynard, Cooper & Gale, will serve as the keynote speaker at the college's 2015 Honors Day Convocation on Thursday, April 30.

BSC's president, Gen. Charles C. Krulak, spoke to a campus audience of some 500 students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests on entrepreneurship April 9. BSC vs Birmingham Barons
The BSC baseball team took on Birmingham's double-A Barons in an exhibition game Tuesday. Some 2,500 students, faculty, staff, alumni, and baseball fans attended the event. Check out a time lapse video here from the game, see a gallery of pictures, and more.

Birmingham-Southern College junior Katherine Valin, who is double majoring in psychology and biology, has been named a 2015 Goldwater Scholar.

BSC senior earns prestigious Fulbright award
Rachel Buchan, a religion and psychology double major and Harrison Honors Scholar at Birmingham-Southern, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study abroad for a year. Buchan was selected for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Turkey, where she will teach at the university level.

Birmingham-Southern College paid tribute on Monday to Marguerite Jones "Wita" Harbert, a 1944 graduate and former trustee of the college.
