Tuesday, November 30
11:00 a.m.—“Path of Destruction: The Science and Politics of the War on Terror.” Munger Memorial Hall Auditorium. Presented by Birmingham-Southern College science, political science, and history faculty.
7:00 p.m.—“The Method and the Madness: The Journey of Creative Collaboration.” Munger Memorial Hall Auditorium. Presented by Birmingham-Southern College fine and performing arts faculty and students.
Thursday, December 2
11:00 a.m.—“Forward? Ever? The Civil Rights Movement at BSC.” Munger Memorial Hall Auditorium. A conversation with Howell Raines, Birmingham-Southern College graduate and former Executive Editor of The New York Times; U.S. District Judge U.W. Clemon, Chief Judge of the Northern District of Alabama; Dr. Tennant McWilliams, BSC graduate and Dean of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham; and Odessa Woolfolk, Founder and President Emerita of the Board of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.
7:00 p.m.—“Forward, Ever: Meeting the Ethical Challenge.” Norton Campus Center Theatre. Presented by Birmingham-Southern College alumni discussing how the college helped prepare them for their careers and their life journeys. Panelists include Marilyn Brown ’72, Professor of Art History at Tulane University; the Honorable James S. Garrett ’67, retired Judge of the Jefferson County Circuit Court, Criminal Division; Angela Fisher Hall ’82, Assistant to the Executive Director of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute; and Dr. Robert Poczatek ’92, a Physician with Neurological Associates, P.C.
Friday, December 3
7:30 p.m.—Birmingham-Southern College Choirs Annual Carol Service. Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook. Presented by the combined choirs of Birmingham-Southern College.
Saturday, December 4
10:00 a.m.—Forward, Ever: The Presidential Inauguration. Bill Battle Coliseum. The inauguration of Dr. G. David Pollick as the 12th President of Birmingham-Southern College, followed immediately by a reception in the Bruno Great Hall of the Norton Campus Center.
Sunday, December 5
4:30 p.m.—Birmingham-Southern College Choirs Annual Carol Service. Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook. Presented by the combined choirs of Birmingham-Southern College.
