The college’s new Environmental Park and Lake Area is currently under construction on the west end of campus adjacent to the residence hall quad. To be completed in phases, the park will be both a place of recreation and leisure for students, but also an academic laboratory for the study of environmental issues. In addition, the area will include a pavilion, amphitheatre, boat house, and terraced seating that borders the existing intramural fields and EcoScape gardens. The college recently opened its new Admission Welcome Center. This stately manor near the Striplin Fitness and Recreation Center serves as the "first glimpse" of campus and host prospective future students and their parents as they visit Birmingham-Southern during the college decision process.

Construction on Birmingham-Southern’s new athletics complex, located on the northwest side of campus began in 2006 and will be completed in phases. Phase I of construction of the complex—which included the athletics building, practice field, and state-of-the-art competition field with turf surface—was completed this past October.

The opportunities for living on campus just got a whole lot more exciting at Birmingham-Southern! The college has purchased the Hilltop Terrace Apartments located behind fraternity row and the Striplin Fitness and Recreation Center.

The completely renovated apartment complex contains 16 buildings and will house approximately 350 students. In addition to upperclassmen and honors students, the housing will be open to students participating in theme housing—where students live and study around a particular subject or interest, such as Spanish, wellness, or recycling. There’s even a pool!

The college has built a road that runs directly from the apartments into campus and also the facility is now enclosed within BSC's gates.
