I want to take this opportunity to let you know how excited we are that you have chosen Birmingham-Southern as your college community. As you begin this new phase in your lives, there is excitement, but there also are questions, anxieties, and challenges. Trust me when I say that together we can work through these things to make your first year at BSC one of the best ever.
There are many people at Birmingham-Southern who are prepared to help you make the adjustment to college. There are professors, staff, and other students who are excited about assisting you with your transition. Whether you’re looking for guidance in finding a building on campus, living with a roommate, selecting a major, writing a paper, making a speech, learning study skills, staying healthy, or even fitting in, there’s someone who can help. Don’t hesitate to call on us. We’re here for you.
So, join me for the opening of a new academic year. Be open to new information and experiences. Take advantage of the many opportunities available to you. Seek assistance when you need it. And, enjoy every minute of your first year here.
