The BSC Four-Year Guarantee

BSC is proud to offer a Four-Year Graduation Guarantee to all of our students. Because of the strength of the college’s academic advising, a 12-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio, and careful planning of annual course offerings, students are guaranteed to graduate within four years if they satisfy certain guidelines. If we fail to offer courses required for a specific major or an academic advising error leads to the necessity for an additional course or courses in the fifth year, the college will cover the cost of tuition plus any course fees. For more information about the Four-Year Guarantee click here. The Four Year Guarantee saves you money when you compare the cost of graduating in four years vs. the chances of a fifth or sixth year at a public university. A four year graduation rate comparison is available by clicking here.

The Value of a BSC Education

Birmingham-Southern was again named a Best Buy in the 2009 edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges for the quality of academic offerings in relation to the cost of attendance.  BSC was one of only 26 private institutions in the nation—and the only public or private institution in Alabama—included in the annual publication.

Scholarship and Financial Aid Opportunities

Birmingham-Southern College offers a wide array of financial aid opportunities to help its students fund their college education. BSC awards an average of $13,000 in institutional aid to qualifying students. Students interested in BSC financial aid opportunities should begin the process by completing an online FAFSA application using code number 001012 as the Title IV School Code.
