Hilltop Photo of the WeekWelcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week. The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved. A Grinchly surprise—Despite his reputation as a “bad banana with a greasy black peel,” the Birmingham-Southern campus community warmed up to a visit from the Grinch on Dec. 13. BSC Provost Dr. Mark Schantz, decked out in his green duds, and Academic Affairs Assistant Angela White, dressed up as the character Cindy Lou Who from The Grinch who Stole Christmas, shared some Christmas cheer by passing out green and white cake pops in campus buildings. The Provost’s Office organized this year’s Munger Hall Ball and chose “A Grinch Christmas” as its theme. The staff and faculty of Munger hold a traditional holiday potluck and party each year and decided to involve the campus in all the fun, too! These are the buildings they visited, in order, though the treats didn’t make it past the library: Norton Center, Library, Student Services Building, Admission Welcome Center, College Theatre, Kennedy Art Center, Berte Humanities Center, Stephens Science Center, and Stockham. Look for a new Photo of the Week on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a safe, prosperous, healthy, peaceful, and happy new year! |
