Hilltop Photo of the WeekWelcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week. The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved. Stunning study abroad and travel—Several Birmingham-Southern students are studying abroad during the 2012-13 academic year and visiting some beautiful places. Above, two BSC students studying abroad for a year at the Université Francois Rabelais (UFR) in Tours, France, are photographed with two of the college’s former exchange students from the UFR. The UFR is one of BSC’s exchange programs located in the Loire Valley, one of the most historic and picturesque locations in France. Pictured in front of the Château of Chambord castle (from left) are Taylor Williams, a junior who is studying at UFR for 2012-13; Chloé Passe, a former UFR exchange student who studied at BSC for 2010-11 and now teaches at a school in Paris; Ashley Parsons, a junior Harrison Honors Scholar who is studying at UFR for 2012-13; and Adrien Hebert, a former UFR exchange student who studied at BSC for 2010-11 and is now working on his master's in economics. Below, two BSC students and an alum recently met in the Swiss Alps. David Litton ’12 of Roswell, Ga., first visited the area when he studied abroad in England in the fall of 2010. Junior Missy McIntyre (center) is studying at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, and junior Harrison Honors Scholar Susan Tuberville is studying at Florence University of the Arts in Italy. The three met for a long weekend recently in which they hiked through the Swiss Alps in the area surrounding Interlaken, Switzerland, particularly the small towns of Lauterbrunnen, Gimmelwald, and Grindelwald. After their trek, Tuberville visited Amy Sessions ‘12, a Harrison Honors Scholar graduate; current Fulbright research scholar in Lausanne, Switzerland; and a fellow member of Chi Omega sorority.
