BSC Photo of the Week

Hilltop Photo of the Week

Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week.

The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved.

Getting down and dirty for a cause—Birmingham-Southern students Mary Dea Covington (a junior Spanish major), Shannon Thompson (a junior business major), and Paterson Graham (a senior biology major) competed in the Warrior Dash Saturday, Oct 6, in Warrior. The Warrior Dash is a 3.2 mile race involving military obstacles such as cargo climbs, military crawls, utilizing ropes to get through treacherous landscapes, swimming, and jumping over fire. Thompson (in center) competed as a St. Jude Warrior and raised more than $275 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The marching arts—BSC's Panther Pride Marching Band has been on a roll this football season. With a new drum major and a new color guard instructor, the band has rocked three halftime shows for the crowds. The color guard and drum major are sporting new outfits this year that highlight the halftime show’s theme: New Orleans Jazz. Pictured from left to right are Paisley Harrell, Rachel Gosnell, Danielle Rowe, Mary Kathryn Konrad, Lisa Howard (drum major), Elizabeth Sullivan, Hillary Howze, and Rae Bolton. Come out and see the show at the remaining football games!
