Hilltop Photo of the Week

Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week.

The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved.

Rehearsing Shakespeare—Senior bachelor of musical arts major Josh Phillips and junior theatre major Christie Connelly rehearse a scene from Richard III, a timely tale of politics, lust, and murder. Widely considered to be one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays, Richard III tells the story of the English monarch’s bloody rise to the throne and his short and troubled reign as king. The historical play kicks off Thursday, Oct 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the College Theatre/Mainstage on campus and will run for four performances through Oct. 7. Other shows are Oct. 5 & 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 7 at 2:30 p.m. Professors Alan Litsey (director) and Matthew Mielke (scenic design) and costumer Patti Manning are collaborating with a team of 28 students. Student leadership includes light design by senior theatre major Nolan Martin, sound design by junior musical theatre major Brooke Gronemeyer, and stage management by junior musical theatre major Gia Nappo. Ticket prices are $15 for the general public and $10 for students (regardless of the school they attend). Reserve your tickets by calling the College Theatre Box Office at x4780 or visit “Buy Tickets Now” online.
