Hilltop Photo of the WeekWelcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week. The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved. View the Photo of the Week archive here.
Recruitment 101—“Bid Day” is one of the exciting and popular traditions on the Hilltop. The fraternities and sororities held their final fall recruitment events Sept. 13 and 16, respectively, as they handed their “bids” or invitations to those who wanted to join their organizations. The men added 71 to their groups, and the women added 76. Birmingham-Southern has 6 sororities and 6 fraternities, and each one is unique in its own way. The fraternities and sororities planned events on campus this past weekend to celebrate BSC Greek Life and its new members. Shown above (l to r) are freshmen Stone Hottel, Cal Frenda, and David Harrell signing their bid cards after pledging Sigma Nu. Below, the sorority new members run to the Sorority Townhouse amphitheater to mingle with their new sisters.
