Hilltop Photo of the Week
Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the
Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll
feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus,
along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo
of the Week.
The college welcomes submissions to be considered
for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can
be e-mailed to the
Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints
may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions
to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure
to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location
and people involved.

Using their powers for the good—Five members of the college’s Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, who also are dedicated runners, signed up to “run like superheroes” in the Mercedes Marathon Weekend: 5KBR on Saturday, Feb. 11. The charity run supports Kid One Transport, a nonprofit organization in Alabama that helps families who are transportation disadvantaged by taking their children to medical or dental appointments. The students are still collecting donations from friends and alumni. Those who rose to the fundraising challenge, standing inside their fraternity house, are (from left) Jesse Posey, a junior; Sam Marquez, a junior; Alex Dumont, a freshman; Pledger Schaefer, a freshman; and Andres Berrios, a sophomore. The five men ran their journey representing the comic book hero The Flash and wore the 5K's signature cape. “We had an incredible time running for the charity and will continue to support organizations like Kid One Transport in the future,” said Berrios. Alpha Tau Omega helps spread smiles through many other philanthropic projects each year.
