Hilltop Photo of the Week
Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the
Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll
feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus,
along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo
of the Week.
The college welcomes submissions to be considered
for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can
be e-mailed to the
Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints
may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions
to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure
to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location
and people involved.

Soaking up the sun—Birmingham-Southern sophomores Mary Dea Covington (on right) and Shannon Thompson enjoy a lovely November day studying and soaking up the gorgeous fall weather on the Hilltop. Covington is a Spanish major from Guntersville and Thompson is a business major from Nashville, Tenn.
Students “Kan Krulak”—Students from Birmingham-Southern and Millsaps College recently competed to see which school could collect the most canned food from their respective campus communities. The friendly wager took place the week prior to BSC’s homecoming football game against Millsaps on Nov. 12. Dubbed “Kan Krulak,” the Student Government Association-sponsored activity collected 625 cans of food that were placed in the office of BSC President Gen. Charles C. Krulak. BSC won both the canned food drive competition and the football game. All of the canned goods were donated to Magic City Harvest food recovery program. Shown with President Krulak and the canned goods in his office are (front, left to right) Rae Bolton, SGA community connections chair, and Nisha Kashyap, SGA representative; (back, left to right) Camille Cannada, SGA president, and Sarah McCune, SGA diversity chair.
