Hilltop Photo of the Week
Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the
Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll
feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus,
along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo
of the Week.
The college welcomes submissions to be considered
for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can
be e-mailed to the
Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints
may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions
to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure
to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location
and people involved.

Paint party—Birmingham-Southern’s Alpha Tau Omega fraternity recently held its first philanthropy project of the year. The annual “Paint Rave” took place Sept. 9 at the college’s intramural fields. Students paid $10 for admission, which included a bottle of paint. A DJ was on hand, and students danced while painting each other. ATO raised more than $4,000 for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Pictured during the event (from left to right) are BSC students Andres Berrios, Ross Pearlman, Ewan Hadgraft, Jesse Posey, and Xuejiao Feng.

Extreme adventure—Six Birmingham-Southern students, accompanied by Mike Robinson, BSC director of physical fitness and recreation, had the thrilling experience of rafting the Ocoee River in Dayton, Tenn. The annual white water rafting trip was held Sept. 4 as part of the activities planned and promoted by Southern Outdoor Recreation, a component of the college’s Physical Fitness & Recreation Department. Those who took part in the outing were (front row, from left) Jennifer Hughes, Savannah Simmons, Sarah Gilkerson, and Rachel Gosnell; (back row, from left) Mitchell Robinson and Martin Meyer.
