Hilltop Photo of the Week

Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week.

The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved.

Musical ghost story—Two Birmingham-Southern theatre students, Fred Brown (on left) and Matt Parker, were part of the cast of 13 Alabama Ghosts and Jeffrey that was performed July 11–17 at the Gardendale Civic Center. The musical was a haunting tale of the life story of late legendary novelist and Alabama native Kathryn Tucker Windham. Parker’s character, Zach Radle, and Brown’s character, Brad, were juvenile delinquents who learned lessons of life and family through storytelling. The performances were presented by the Gardendale Arts Council and the city of Gardendale. 13 Alabama Ghosts and Jeffrey was the first book published in 1969 by Windham and Margaret Gillis Figh.
