Hilltop Photo of the Week
Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the
Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll
feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus,
along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo
of the Week.
The college welcomes submissions to be considered
for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can
be e-mailed to the
Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints
may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions
to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure
to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location
and people involved.

Big sister, little sister—Sorority recruitment on Birmingham-Southern's campus drew to a close Sept. 14 with more than 100 women (mostly freshmen) running to the sorority amphitheater after they received their bids. Smiles, tears, and hugs flowed through the crowd as they were met by all the current sorority women, alumnae, parents, and other students. Here, senior English major Mary Catherine McAnnally welcomes a new sister during the bid-signing ceremony. McAnnally is a member of Chi Omega, one of seven national sororities at BSC. The men's annual recruitment week ended Sept. 16 with a bid-signing ceremony in Norton Theatre. Following the signing, the new fraternity members met the entire Greek community at the Urban Environmental Park for a "Welcome to Greek Life Party." Fraternity and sorority members—new and old—enjoyed an afternoon of music, food and interfraternal socializing.
