Hilltop Photo of the Week
Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the
Week” webpage and archives. Each week at this site, we'll
feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus,
along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo
of the Week.
The college welcomes submissions to be considered
for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can
be e-mailed to the
Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints
may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions
to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure
to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location
and people involved.

Meet me in Spain—Birmingham-Southern student Katie Adams (on left), a sophomore Spanish major and Harrison Scholar from Anniston, and BSC Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish Elva Gonzalez recently met in the southern region of Spain at a quaint cafe for some conversation. Gonzalez toured Seville (Spain's fourth largest city) and other parts of the country this past spring as an instructor in an Emory University educational program. Adams studied in Seville during the college's Spring Term through a program by the Center for Cross-Cultural Study. She stayed with a family there and took language-intensive classes four hours a day on a range of topics from art history to immigration. "It was the first time I traveled abroad," said Adams. "Professor Gonzalez told me before I left that she'd be coming back to Spain at the end of May, so we kept in touch through e-mail and exchanged Spanish phone numbers."
