Hilltop Photo of the Week

Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” Web page and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week.

The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at pcole@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved.

Sigma Chi's big donation—The brothers of Sigma Chi fraternity at Birmingham-Southern raised thousands of dollars during their annual weeklong philanthropy project “Derby Days” held March 29 through April 1. During the week, members of the fraternity held a series of fun activities on campus that culminated in a successful philanthropic competition between BSC's sororities. Nearly $6,000 was raised to go towards the Children's Hospital of Alabama and to donate toys there, as well as to direct funds to the winning group's philanthropic organization of choice. Pictured are representatives from Sigma Chi and from each sorority on campus. Derby Days is just one of the many ways that BSC's fraternity and sorority members assist the local community through service and philanthropy.
