BSC Photo of the Week

Hilltop Photo of the Week

Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” web page and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week.

The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at bwagnon@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved.

Parachute jumpers fall for BSC—Members of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles Elite Parachute Jump Team showed off their skills during the Armed Forces Soccer Classic held Sept. 19 & 21 on the Birmingham-Southern campus. The collegiate men's soccer teams from three of the U.S. Service Academies—Army, Air Force, and Navy—made history as the first time all three competed in the same venue and at the same time. “This historic weekend had been in the works since 2001,” said BSC head soccer coach Preston Goldfarb, a former armored intelligence officer in the U.S. Army. “We thought it was important to find ways to recognize the men and women who serve in our military … so that our community can express our support for these future military leaders.” Corporate sponsors of the event were the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion Montgomery, Alabama Power, Jim 'N Nick's BBQ, PUMA, and The Sheraton Downtown Hotel.
