Hilltop Photo of the Week
Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the
Week” web page and archives. Each week at this site, we'll
feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus,
along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo
of the Week.
The college welcomes submissions to be considered
for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can
be e-mailed to the
Office of Communications at bwagnon@bsc.edu, or photographic prints
may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions
to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure
to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location
and people involved.

Send off festivities—The Birmingham-Southern community was treated to live music, free food, and fun at the 2nd annual Summer Send Off held on the Hilltop in early May. The pre-summertime gala, hosted by the BSC Office of Student Affairs, is an end of the year campus celebration to wish some students a nice summer and others a final farewell. The college's barbecue grill was kept busy turning out hot dogs during the event, and popsicles, cotton candy, and a frosty assortment of beverages were served. Music was performed by local band Just a Few Cats that used to feature former American Idol Ruben Studdard.
Mmmm, hot dogs—BSC Admission Counselors Ashley Frohock and Chris Forsythe helped serve hundreds of freshly grilled hot dogs during the first annual Start of Summer picnic for the staff of Birmingham-Southern. The two-hour midday picnic also featured music, horseback riding, and plenty of games where staff members could compete for gift certificates and other prizes. The fun event was organized by leaders of the BSC Staff Council.
