Photo of the Week
Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the
Week” web page and archives. Each week at this site, we'll
feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus,
along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo
of the Week.
The college welcomes submissions to be considered
for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can
be e-mailed to the
Office of Communications at bwagnon@bsc.edu, or photographic prints
may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions
to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure
to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location
and people involved.

A rocking good time—Drive-by Truckers, a Southern five-piece band with a new CD due out in early 2008, recently rocked the Birmingham-Southern campus with a night of music and entertainment at this fall's E-Fest event. The popular band is made up of three guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer, all natives of Alabama or Georgia. “The campus community, through the SGA survey from last year, as well as through more recent questionnaires, voted for the Drive-by Truckers as the number one band for an on-campus BSC entertainment event,” said Ford Ray, entertainment coordinator of the BSC student programming board Quest II, which sponsors the annual event. “We were lucky to secure them for this year's E-Fest.” The band Warm in the Wake opened the concert with 1995 BSC graduate Chris Rowell leading on vocals and guitar. The free concert lasted until after midnight in front of a crowd of more than 500.
