BSC Photo of the Week

Hilltop Photo of the Week

Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” web page and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week.

The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at bwagnon@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved.

Crowning glory—Meredith Ervin (right) of Huntsville won a $3,500 scholarship and the title of Miss Birmingham-Southern College 2007 on Nov. 18 following casual, talent, swimsuit, and evening wear competitions in the BSC Theatre. The contestants also participated in an on-stage interview. Ervin is a freshman chemistry/dance major whose talent was ballet and whose platform was Protecting You/Protecting Me. Carlon Alexandra (left), a senior dance education major from Muscle Shoals, was first runner-up and winner of the talent portion and the Anne and Neal Berte Community Service Award. The Miss BSC Pageant is an official preliminary competition for the Miss Alabama Pageant scheduled for next June. Ervin will compete to become the 22nd Miss BSC since 1938 to also be crowned Miss Alabama.
