Hilltop Photo of the Week Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” web page and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week. The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at bwagnon@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved. A child's-eye view of diversity—Victoria Myers (top photo, center) was inducted as Birmingham-Southern's 2006-07 Southern Diversity Delegate at an evening ceremony Oct. 17 on campus. In her role, Myers will serve as the primary student spokesperson for BSC's Office of Multicultural Affairs with an opportunity to sponsor cultural programs, promote community building, and facilitate cross-cultural understanding within the campus community. A senior political science major from Vestavia Hills, she was selected by a panel of judges and student vote. The highlight of the ceremony though was the showing of Myers' documentary “Diversity Through the Eyes of a Child: The Birmingham Project,” which is a DVD she created from interviews with some 60 local schoolchildren of various ages. Myers also is a gymnastics coach and founder of the college's Multicultural Awareness Organization. BSC students on the diversity court pictured with Myers are (from left) Demetrius Foy, Josh Davidson, Abha Soni, Monique Roberts, Charisma Shah, Sirena Wang, Nicho Arciniegas, and Cal NeSmith, who is SGA president. In the photo below, Myers is shown with Hannah Grace, one of the children featured in the documentary.
