Hilltop Photo of the Week Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” web page and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week. The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at bwagnon@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved. West meets East—Birmingham-Southern senior Sirena Wang (seventh, from right), was one of 14 preliminary winners—and the only one from the South—recently selected to compete in the 2006 Miss New York Chinese Beauty Pageant. The Chinese-American women, representing the farthest points of the U.S., will compete Aug. 12 for a $10,000 scholarship and a diamond crown valued at $30,000. In addition, the winner will represent New York in the January 2007 Miss Chinese International competition in Hong Kong. Wang is an international business and music major from Madison, Ala., an accomplished pianist, and a member of the BSC air rifle team. The Miss New York Chinese Beauty Pageant is a scholarship competition held annually for women ages 17 to 25 who were born in China or are of Chinese descent. You can vote for Sirena by clicking on the Internet Popularity Poll at www.misschinese.us. You do not want to download the Chinese language software when asked. You can still vote by going to Sirena's photo (No. 13) and clicking the button under her photo and then the rectangular button at the bottom above the line to submit your vote.
