BSC Photo of the Week

Hilltop Photo of the Week

Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” web page and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week.

The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at bwagnon@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved.

Donning the mortarboard—Prior to Birmingham-Southern's traditional Capping Ceremony May 27, Matthew Wolfe, a chemistry major from Homewood, and his father and BSC Trustee, Rev. Dr. Andy Wolfe, practice the capping procedure. Looking on is his mother, Dawn Wolfe. Matthew Wolfe will attend the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Andy Wolfe, a 1970 graduate of Birmingham-Southern, is senior minister of Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood. Dawn Wolfe, a 1977 BSC graduate, is a counselor at Homewood's Edgewood Elementary School. More than 1,000 graduates, cappers, and guests were on hand in Bill Battle Coliseum on campus as graduates were capped by someone dear to them. The next day, some 4,200 were on hand for the Commencement Ceremony in Boutwell Auditorium in downtown Birmingham.
