BSC Photo of the Week

Hilltop Photo of the Week

Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” web page and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week.

The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at bwagnon@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved.

'Southern votes—Birmingham-Southern students Benjamin Marsh and Allison Stagg, along with several other BSC students, were on hand at back-to-school registration at nearby Woodrow Wilson Elementary School Aug. 10 and 11 to register students' parents to vote. The activity is part of the non-partisan partnership between BSC's Hess Center for Leadership and Service and the National Campaign for Civic and Political Engagement, an effort organized by Harvard University's Institute of Politics. Through a campaign known as “'Southern Votes,” BSC is working to increase voter registration both on and off the campus, as well as to involve more students in the political process. This fall, the college will hold voter registration drives directed at incoming first-year students and returning students. BSC students also will be involved in other activities this fall including candidate forums and Debate Watch, an educational viewing and review of the presidential debates. Birmingham-Southern students were invited to hold voter registration at Woodrow Wilson by Patricia Warren, the school's principal.
