Hilltop Photo of the Week Welcome to Birmingham-Southern's “Hilltop Photo of the Week” web page and archives. Each week at this site, we'll feature a photo that depicts some aspect of life on the Hilltop campus, along with brief information about what is taking place in the Photo of the Week. The college welcomes submissions to be considered for the Hilltop Photo of the Week. Scanned or digital photos can be e-mailed to the Office of Communications at bwagnon@bsc.edu, or photographic prints may be sent through campus mail to Box 549004. Please limit photo submissions to those that depict some aspect of the BSC experience, and be sure to identify what is taking place in the photo, along with location and people involved. Moving on up—Birmingham-Southern Baseball Coach Brian Shoop (far left) meets on the mound during an NCAA Regional Tournament game June 4 against Clemson with three of the players who helped lead the Panthers into NCAA postseason play in their first season of eligibility—(from left) Ryan Griffith, a senior catcher from Pisgah; Wes Letson, a junior pitcher from Hartselle; and Connor Robertson, a senior first baseman/pitcher from Tuscaloosa. Over a four-day span, the trio played in the first NCAA postseason tournament of any kind for a Birmingham-Southern sports team, earned the college's first-ever NCAA postseason victory, and were drafted in the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft. Griffith and Robertson also received their BSC diplomas during that span. Letson was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 11th round; Griffith was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 22nd round; Robertson was drafted by the Oakland A's in the 31st round.
