Oil and gas executive to give BSC’s annual Stump Entrepreneurship Lecture

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--A well known business leader and executive in the oil and gas industry and private equity market will deliver Birmingham-Southern College’s annual Stump Entrepreneurship Lecture on Monday, March 13.Hallie Vanderhider

Hallie Vanderhider, managing director with SFC Energy Partners--a Denver-based private equity firm focused on the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry--will speak at 7 p.m. in the Norton Campus Center’s Bruno Great Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Before joining SFC Energy Partners, where she has direct responsibility for multiple portfolio companies and infrastructure, Vanderhider served as managing partner of Catalyst Partners LLC, an investment banking firm providing advisory and capital services to the energy and technology sectors. In that role, she helped numerous companies and individuals raise capital and handle acquisitions, divestitures, and technology related to the oil and gas industry.

Vanderhider also spent 10 years as president, chief operating officer, and board member for Black Stone Minerals Company LP, the largest private oil and gas fee mineral owner in the United States. During her tenure, the company’s valuation grew from $220 million to more than $4 billion.

She currently serves on the boards of Noble Midstream Partners LP, GreyRock Energy, Armor Energy, Frostwood Energy, Sedalia Energy, and Greystone Petroleum, and has also served on the boards of Rebellion Photonics, Bright Horizon Resources, and Mississippi Resources. In addition to her professional responsibilities, she spent three years on the advisory board for the Holocaust Museum of Houston Foundation and is on the board of the National Lupus Foundation of America.

Vanderhider received a BBA in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a certified public accountant who started her career as an accountant with Deloitte.

The Stump Entrepreneurship Lecture is part of the Birmingham-Southern College Entrepreneurship Program, endowed by Jane and Kevin Stump of Birmingham, both graduates of BSC. Kevin Stump is founder, chair, and CEO of Interconn Resources Inc. This is the seventh annual Stump Lecture.
