Birmingham-Southern College students elect 2011 Homecoming Queen and King

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Faith Dorn of Anniston and Tom Webster of Huntsville were crowned the 2011 Birmingham-Southern Homecoming Queen and King during halftime ceremonies of the college’s homecoming football game against Millsaps College Nov. 12. Dorn and Webster were elected by vote of the student body.

Dorn, a senior English major, is the daughter of Christina and Edward Dorn. She is a resident hall advisor, writer for the Hilltop News newspaper, senior representative on the Student Government Association, and treasurer of the Foreign Languages Club.

Webster, a senior religion major, is the son of Dorothy Ann and Fred Webster. He is a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, vice president of the Order of Omega Greek honor society, and president of the Southern Ambassadors student recruiting group.

Named senior attendants during the 2011 homecoming week festivities were: Agee Baldwin III, a biology major from Bessemer and the son of Cynthia and Agee Baldwin; Alexis Gilmore, a psychology major from Mobile and the daughter of Clara and Joe Gilmore; Kayla Gronemeyer, an elementary education major from Muscle Shoals and the daughter of Donna Gronemeyer and Dianna and John Gronemeyer; Lauren Metzger, a biology major from Mobile and the daughter of Lori and Ken Metzger; Robert Sturdivant, a religion major from Vestavia Hills and the son of Susan and Jim Sturdivant; and Patrick Welch, an urban environmental studies major and Harrison Honors Scholar from Gadsden and the son of Pat and Bobby Welch.

Named junior attendants were: Cameron Burgess, an international studies major from Suwanee, Ga., and the son of Cathie and Chip Burgess; Chrissy Cleveland, an English major from Wadley and the daughter of Mary Ann and John Cleveland; Nolan Martin, a musical theatre major from Vestavia Hills and the son of Ann and James Martin; and Melanie Robinson, a Spanish major from Bessemer and the daughter of Sandra and Farnsworth Robinson.

Named sophomore attendants were: Andres Berrios, a music education major and Harrison Honors Scholar from Marietta, Ga., and the son of Yolanda and Luis Berrios; Kaitlyn Flagg, a dance and math major from Snellville, Ga., and the daughter of Lisa and Dan Flagg; Emily Holst, an English major from Sheridan, Wyo., and the daughter of Kathryn and Stephen Holst; and Maulin Shah, a math and chemistry major from Brentwood, Tenn., and the son of Charv and Pankaj Shah.

Named freshman attendants were: Rich Bailey, a musical theatre major from Montgomery and the son of Mary Ed Davis and Joseph Bailey; Caroline Glass, an English major and Harrison Honors Scholar from Tuscaloosa and the daughter of Beth and Leland Glass; Nichole Porras, a pre-engineering major from Dallas, Texas, and the daughter of Rebecca Porras and Andrew Porras; and Pledger Schaefer, a pre-pharmacy major from Winchester, Tenn., and the son of Julie and Milton Schaefer.
