Birmingham-Southern College student receives prestigious theatre scholarship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Dallas Taylor, a freshman musical theatre major from Birmingham, has received the Southeastern Theatre Conference 2010 Secondary School Scholarship.

The scholarship includes a $2,100 cash award, a year's membership in the SETC, and an invitation and travel allowance to the SETC's 62nd Annual Convention and Awards Banquet in Atlanta March 2-6, 2011.

Taylor recently appeared in the BSC Theatre program's production of "Cabaret," which ran Nov. 16-21 on campus.

He is a 2010 graduate of Shades Valley High School.

The Southeastern Theatre Conference is the largest and most active regional theatre organization in the country.
