Birmingham-Southern theatre season opens Oct. 7 with Light Up the Sky
The 2010-11 Birmingham-Southern College theatre season opens Oct. 7 with Light Up the Sky at 7:30 p.m. in the College Theatre/Mainstage.
Penned by one of America’s greatest playwrights, this delightful comedy by Moss Hart revolves around a group of New York theatre-folk who attend the opening of their new play in Boston. Hopeful the play will be a smash hit, they are all the best of friends and madly in love with one other.
When it appears the play may not be well received, their hotel room becomes home to temper tantrums and accusations of a hilarious nature. Ultimately, the reviews turn out to be positive and everyone—the actors, the backers, and the young, unknown playwright—all learn lessons about life and life in the theatre.
Light Up the Sky is charming and funny and a thoroughly entertaining evening in the theatre.
Performances are Oct. 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 10 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general public and $10 for students. For ticket information, please contact the College Theatre Box Office at 205/226-4780.
