Local students receive Birmingham-Southern College scholarship award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College juniors Alyssa Briggs of Lexington, Ky., and Kristen Poole of Meridian, Miss., are the recipients of the Alpha Lambda Delta Scholarship Award presented during the college's 2010 Honors Day Convocation.

The award, sponsored by the BSC chapter of the national honorary, is given to students with an outstanding academic record.

Briggs is an elementary/collaborative education major and the daughter of Paul and Anne Briggs.

Poole is a biology major and the daughter of Frank and Leigh Poole.
