News from the HilltopFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Birmingham-Southern College student selected for Harvard summer science programBIRMINGHAM, Ala. —Birmingham-Southern junior Dana Bryant of Fairfield has been selected to participate in the 2009 Summer Program in Quantitative Science at Harvard University. She is one of 12 students chosen nationally to participate in the all-expense-paid program and will spend four weeks in Boston, Mass. The Harvard Summer Program in Quantitative Science is intended to introduce highly qualified students to the field of public health. The program coursework includes exposure to biostatistics, epidemiology, and recent public health research. In collaboration with other student participants, Bryant will have the opportunity to create and present a public health-related group project under the guidance of Harvard University faculty and graduate students. Bryant, a sociology/psychology major at BSC, is a graduate of Ramsey High School and is the daughter of Sharonette Parker and Oscar Lee Bryant. |
