Vestavia resident receives Birmingham-Southern College student-athlete award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern student Evan Wilson of Vestavia is the recipient of the William Legg Award presented during the college's 2009 Honors Day Convocation.

The $1,000 scholarship is presented to a senior student-athlete who plans to attend graduate school. It is named after the 1950 BSC graduate who played varsity baseball and basketball at the college.

Wilson was a member of the BSC football team. He played football at Vestavia High School where he also lettered in wrestling.

A business administration major, he is the son of Sherry Wilson. He graduated from Birmingham-Southern May 17.
