Local students receive Birmingham-Southern College accounting awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Four Birmingham-Southern College students are the recipients of the J.G.H. Morris Scholarship for academic excellence in accounting.

The awards, presented during the college's 2009 Honors Day Convocation, are sponsored by the BSC Department of Business and Accounting and presented to accounting students. This year's award recipients are:

• James Allen of Homewood, a junior and the son of James and Kelley Allen.
• Carter McLean of Mountain Brook, a junior and the son of Emmett and Catherine McLean.
• Kristina Sanders of Fairhope, a junior and the daughter of Dr. Donald Sanders of Mobile and Kristy Sanders of Fairhope.
• Xinyan Yan of College Hills, a junior who is an international student from Zhengzhou, China.
